How you communicate is crucial to how your message will be heard. Recently I was introduced to Think, Feel, Know and their perspective on communication.
Think, Feel, Know are three styles in communication and one usually will be what you innately uses. A easy way to understand this is do you in a conversation use: “I think”, “I feel”, or “I know” more? This is a good way to self-diagnose what style you prefer to communicate in. I recommend you take the indicator on the TFK website to exactly measure your communication styles. The reason this information is valuable is because everyone communicates differently. In an organization to engage and motivate your employees or team members -heck even you customers you need to communicate effectively to get the message across.
I took the Think, Feel, Know indicator on the website and was pleasantly surprised to be pretty even in my communication style. I am 36% think and split between 34% feel and know. This is great because as a coach/ consultant I need to be able to move between all three styles depending on who I’m working with.
Check out the website and I always recommending taking personal and professional assessments for your strengths and preferences. Knowledge is power and it can only make you more effective in your life.
